LANGWORTHY TO RYAN: DO YOU STAND WITH SHELLY? BUFFALO, NY...Erie County Republican Chairman Nicholas A. Langworthy made the following statement at the office of Assembly member Sean Ryan:
"This past weekend, Assemblyman Sean Ryan had much to say about Sheriff Tim Howard’s position on the NY SAFE Act. He even falsely claimed Sheriff Howard did not support victims of domestic violence. What we did not hear from Sean Ryan is where he stands on the sexual harassment firestorm burning in his conference of the New York State Assembly. It's time for him to tell the taxpayers the truth.”
“Today, Democrat Assemblyman Vito Lopez resigned in disgrace. The disgusting actions he took against many female staff members are reprehensible. But Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver went out of his way to shield Vito Lopez from public scrutiny and punishment for his heinous acts of sexual harassment. Silver violated the rules of the Assembly chamber by not acting on and investigating the charges when they first came to light. He facilitated a cover up and a secret payment $103,000 of our taxpayer dollars to the victims and demanded their silence.” |
