MASIELLO FACES UNANSWERABLE QUESTIONS IN CHAIRMANSHIP QUEST

Many highly reliable sources within the Erie County Democratic Party have expressed serious doubts about the chances that former Buffalo Mayor Tony Masiello could be elected county chairman this year based on the fact that, as one source put it, “There are some questions Tony simply can't answer."

As one of them put it:

“How can the ex Mayor be elected Dem Chairman at the same time that he is openly raising money and supporting a Republican candidate for the NYS Senate in Mark Grisanti?...How can he be our chairman after he supported George Pataki for re-election twice?...How can he be our Democratic chairman when he accepted the Republican nomination for re-election as Mayor, I believe twice?...How can he be our chairman at the same time that he is openly lobbying the Republican NYS Senate through his business with partner Carl Calabreese?”

Adds another source:

“There is no way Tony can answer these questions and that's why he can't be elected by our committee members to be our county chairman this year...Some of the big shots might go along but the grass roots guys who will actually decide this thing won't.”
