Despite being favored to win, NYS Senator Tim Kennedy is facing the following obstacles in his tougher than expected primary battle vs. Erie County Leg Chairperson Betty Jean Grant:

Areas where Kennedy is expected to be strong, that is Cheekowaga, South Buffalo contain voters who don't normally come out to vote in primaries. Inner city areas where Grant is expected to do well are full of voters who do come out in primaries.

Some older South Buffalo voters may be concerned about Senator Kennedy's vote in favor of Marriage Equality.

Still, most observers still expect Kennedy to win the Sept. 13 Dem primary, though possibly not by much.
